“Our experience with Owens Corning Basement Finishing Systems began with the very friendly and thorough presentation by Sheila. She spent a great deal of time with us and gave us a very detailed description of how the job would be done and about the product.
Next came Peter, the Project Manager, who actually made four visits. He went over Sheila's blueprint and contract with us and confirmed the project would begin on June 1st and take approximately two weeks. Like Sheila, Peter was friendly, very easy going and made us feel very comfortable about our plans.
Time, the installer, arrived on June 1st and started work. He was meticulous and is a skilled carpenter. He was very friendly, explained what he was doing and completed the work in two weeks. He told us how to care for the walls and said if there were any problems to call him. We knew he would do the job the way he would treat his own home, which was very important to us.

“When we bought our house the only thing it didn't have.that we always dreamed of was a finished basement. A place that was clean, spacious, quiet and convenient for working out, watching movies, hosting poker nights, a family room where we could play games and have fun.
Once we were ready to start looking into finishing over the basement Owen Corning was the first company we thought of. Their product looks so nice in the commercials, and the brand is so well known for insulation that we figured they would be perfect for making not only an inviting room, but also one that would be well insulated and warm.
We met Joe and he was so helpful in laying out a floor plan to fit all of our needs and hopes for what the room would serve as. He did such a great job of explaining the benefits of the Owens Corning product, how resistant it is to mold, how if there is water damage at all it is just replacing a panel rather than a whole wall of sheetrock, how well it not only holds in the heat in the winter, but how sound resistant the room would be when it is done. We knew right away that we found the product we were looking for.
The installation of the room could not have gone smoother. This was all being done in the middle of December and they knew we were planning a New Year's Eve party. They worked so hard to have this room done so we could show it off to our friends and family on New Year's Eve and the room was a huge hit everyone was just in awe of the difference down stairs. The project manager even took time to help us hang our TV on the wall this was going so far above and beyond your typical service we just could not have been happier.
Another great thing about the room is how easy it is to hang pictures on the walls and then change it all around with no need to touch up nail holes! We can keep changing the look of our room by moving the pictures around with the pins that are used in the walls. This make is so easy to keep the room looking fresh.
Long story short, Owens Corning made the task of adding a finished basement as easier than we could ever have imagined. They provided us with exceptional and professional service and in the end we wound up with a room that we enjoy all year round.”

“Tony assured us that this project would be like none of the other horrific experiences we had shared with him. We continued to be skeptical and quite apprehensive, given that we had been let down so many times before. But, given Owens Corning reputation, Tony was right!!!
The team was unbelievable — arriving on time, and working steadily throughout the day, and we can't say enough about the cleanup. Amazing!!! I'm not sure how they select or assign staff to each project, but we got the luck of the draw this time. The electricians and carpet installers were quite speedy, even on the hottest of days. Saving the best for last — our carpenter, Bob Walker — a true professional. His carpentry skills and expertise were quite evident throughout the entire project. He was kind, polite, and most respectful, amenable to suggestions, and addressed any questions or concerns I had along the way. He took the time to explain why something could or couldn't be done in a way that could be understood. Given all that, it was amazing that he could accomplish as much as he did in the course of each day.
Our basement project is now complete, and we are now looking forward to the new family experiences we'll have, which will someday become family memories, and the setting — our Owens Coming basement!

“My husband and I had lived in our home for 12 years with a 1,200 s.f. unfinished cement basement which was used primarily for storage. When we built the house, we had it designed for a future basement with a walkout door, full windows and several rooms.
In November 2009, we met with a sales representative from Owens Corning at our home after seeing a sample of the product at a booth at our local fair. Our basement had flooded twice within 5 years and we were very interested in the Owens Corning Basement Finishing System as it provided a mold resistant solution to our problem. We were also intrigued by the sound proofing capabilities, as we wanted to build our basement for entertaining and provide an area for our children to play.
The project began on January 13, 2010 and was completed by the end of the month. We were very pleased with the attention to detail provided by the construction team and their respect for our home during the construction of the project. They used not only the Owens Corning Basement Finishing System but Owens Corning cultured stone for the pellet stove fireplace area as well as mold-resistant sheetrock for the interior walls. The end product is absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations.
We have had several family gatherings and the most popular place in our home is now our basement. It is warm, comfortable, and quiet area where not only the children enjoy playing but the adults really enjoy spending time there as well.

Ed and I thought we had a plan for our basement. An architect, a master carpenter, traditional materials, and as our conversations and plans progressed, it became evident that our damp and previously flooded basement would need specialized attention.
I couldn't imagine that fiberglass was a solution for us! I called several numbers for companies that could give us detail on building out our basement. I even emailed information to one company — they never responded. The contact that was refreshing was when an Owens Corning representative answered the phone on the first try and asked specific questions to qualify our project.
Owens Corning has a system that is far more than the product. Owens system includes communication with the customer and team that work like clockwork. Robin detailed the project timeline, our points of contact and how the project would progress. We didn't say anything to Robin, but we couldn't believe that our project would near completion in two weeks.
When we met Tony, Pete, and Russ, we understood why Robin spoke with confidence. She is backed by dedicated Owens Corning professionals and contractors. Each member of the team was incredibly responsive, whether it was to meet with Sudbury's building inspectors regarding building requirements or listening and responding to the homeowner's requests. Each member of the team gave us their cell numbers and if unavailable at the moment of our call, would give us an immediate call back.
We were very fortunate to have Russ working on our project. Each time we'd go into the basement he'd stop to speak with us and make sure he answered any/all questions and that we were happy with the progress.
The coordination of efforts, workmanship, and quality of materials has made me change my mind on what a 'fiberglass paneled basement' is all about. The warm, welcoming room that we wanted is downstairs inn our home.

“From the very beginning the process has been professional and timely. Owens Corning was able to meet our schedules and our time demands. The people at Owens Corning were able and willing to fit us in at a time that was good for us. The project from start to finish took only two weeks to complete-as advertised! I did what most people do. I figure two weeks meant three weeks or a month, but in fact 'two weeks' meant 'two weeks'.
Owens Corning not only did the project in a timely manner, but they took care of the entire project from start to finish. Our project head, Tony, was in contact with us frequently and when we had questions or changes he was quick to implement them. They even moved an entire wall after they had already had it studded in at the request of my wife and I.
The room has been completed for a month and a half now and has been both haven to my wife and I, but also my daughters. My wife and I have also regained some order in the main living areas of our home. No longer are their toys strewn across the house. We have regained a quiet place to read, are able do work at home, have control of the television when there is something on we would like to watch. It has been a win-win situation for all involved.”
